Quality assurance

Each and every cylinder conceived to contain compressed gas, included diving-sport cylinders, must be approved by law.

Design calculations and layout are carried out according to the code, fulfilling the specified requirements.

Along the manufacturing process, each cylinder passed through the following extensive control steps:

  • Ultrasonic testing of starting tubes.
  • Weight control and tube identification.
  • Visual control after each production step.
  • Time and temperature control of the heat treatment.
  • Brinell hardness test.
  • Thread inspection.
  • Water capacity control.
  • Hydraulic test.
  • Continuous ultrasonic defects examination and thickness control.
  • Weight control.
  • Final inspection.

Cylinders of each batch are also destructively tested:

- Tension, bending and notched bar impact bending test.

  • Water burst test.
  • Cycling test.

If satisfactory controls are followed by, the official authority stamps of the cylinders according to EN 1089-1:1996.

Triton cylinders are supplied together with the corresponding certificate which allows their use and periodical retesting.
