Manufacturing process

Starting tubes

Seamless steel tubes are cut to working length.

Inside and outside shot-blasting assures a clean surface.

Weight control and tube identification is made.

A continuous ultrasonic control checks the thickness of the tube.

Hotshaping

The ends of the tube are heated in an induction heating, the base and the bottom are shaped by the "Spinning" method.

A heat treatment sets the requested characteristic like hardness and elongation.

Brinell hardness control is made in accordance with EN 10003-1.

Hydraulic test

Necks are machined by a multi-axes machine and afterwards each neck is checked.

A water capacity control and the hydraulic test are made to assure no leaks.

After drying the cylinders, the inner and the outer surfaces are cleaned again by shot-blasting.

Each manufacturing step is controlled. When the cylinder is totally manufactured, the inner and the outer surface, the bottom and the neck are checked to assure the quality of the product.

Painting

The exact cylinder weight is obtained. Marking is made in accordance with the regulations.

The cylinders are painted and the accessories are fitted. (valve and bottom).

The cylinders are packed individually for a safely transportation. Big batches are delivered in pallets and externally plastic wrapped.
